BJP has the maximum number of MLAs in the country. The BJP-led NDA is in power in 15 states/UTs of the country. 

BJP is the biggest party in the country

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) currently has 1361 MLAs across the country. BJP has the maximum number of MLAs in Uttar Pradesh (255). Apart from this, BJP has 156 MLAs in Gujarat, 130 in Madhya Pradesh and 105 in Maharashtra. BJP currently has its own government in 10 states/union territories of the country. 

Congress is at number two

Congress is on the second number in this list. The party currently has 723 MLAs across the country. Congress is in power in 4 states/union territories of the country. The Congress has the maximum number of MLAs in Karnataka (135) where the party won a landslide victory in the recently held assembly elections. It is followed by 108 MLAs in Rajasthan, 96 in Madhya Pradesh, 71 in Chhattisgarh. 

Mamata Banerjee’s TMC also in the list

According to the legislators, the third largest party in the country is TMC of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. The ruling party of Bengal has a total of 226 MLAs across the country. Of these, the maximum number of MLAs are in West Bengal (220) where the party is in power. Apart from this, TMC has five MLAs in Meghalaya. 

Which is the biggest party after them?

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party is at number four in this list. AAP has a total of 161 MLAs across the country. The party currently has governments in Delhi and Punjab. AAP has the maximum number of MLAs in Punjab (92). While the party has 62 MLAs in Delhi. After AAP, Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP is in this list. Andhra Pradesh’s ruling YSRCP has 147 MLAs in the country. 

Where do RJD, JDU stand?

The Samajwadi Party, which once ruled Uttar Pradesh, today has a total of 112 MLAs across the country. While BSP of former UP CM Mayawati has only 7 MLAs. Apart from these, RJD has 81 and JDU has a total of 46 MLAs across the country.
